Zidane's ZZ30: Thirty Years of Predator With adidas
A limited edition Predator 26 in white and metallic gold, released in September 2026 to mark thirty years between Zidane and adidas.
Thirty years ago, adidas signed a young French midfielder nobody outside France had heard of yet. On 8 September 2026, it marked that anniversary with what might be the most personal Predator it has ever made: the ZZ30.
It’s a limited edition Predator 26, in white and metallic gold with touches of blue, white and red for France. The fold-over tongue carries Zidane’s logo in gold, taken from his volley at Hampden Park in 2002. Even the Three Stripes are lenticular, shifting between the adidas logo and “ZZ” as the boot catches the light.

A Boot That Tells His Story
The real detail is in the straps. Where most special editions settle for a signature or a date, the ZZ30 names places. The right boot’s elastic strap carries the cities of Zidane’s professional career: Cannes, Bordeaux, Turin and Madrid. The left names where he started: La Castellane, Saint Henri and Septèmes, the Marseille neighbourhoods he grew up in before any club had heard of him.
It’s a boot built to be read, not just worn — a life in football laid out across two straps, from the estates of Marseille to the Bernabéu.
Why Hampden
The gold logo on the tongue isn’t a generic flourish. It’s drawn from the volley Zidane hit with the outside of his left boot in the 2002 Champions League final against Bayer Leverkusen — still, for many, the greatest goal a final has ever produced. We tell the full story of that night in our Zidane’s Volley Moments piece. Putting it on a boot marking thirty years with adidas is as close as a football boot gets to a highlight reel.
Part of a Longer Story
The ZZ30 isn’t Zidane’s first special Predator, and it continues a pattern adidas has followed for twenty years. For the 2006 World Cup, his last tournament, adidas made him a gold Predator Absolute worn by no one else. For the 25th anniversary of the Predator in 2019, it remade his 1998 World Cup Predator Accelerator in gold kangaroo leather. The ZZ30 is the gold returning a third time, now for an anniversary that belongs to Zidane rather than the boot. Our Predator signature editions guide covers all of his special boots, and everyone else’s, in full.
Price and Availability
The ZZ30 went on sale through adidas and select retailers from 7–8 September 2026, reported at US$295. Leak coverage ahead of launch had expected a lower price, around US$280, so treat the exact figure as reported rather than fixed across every market. Like the current Predator 26 range, it’s built on the NANOSTRIKE+ upper and POWERSPINE soleplate. Zidane, now France’s head coach, has been seen wearing a pair in France training.

We haven’t found an adidas film for this release. If one appears on an official adidas channel, we’ll add it here.
Not the Same Release as Beckham’s
adidas marked two anniversaries within a month of each other in autumn 2026: the ZZ30 in early September, for thirty years of Zidane’s own partnership with adidas, and the Beckham Precision remake and signature Predator 26 in October, for twenty-five years since his free kick against Greece. They’re separate boots marking separate things, released a few weeks apart rather than together — but it’s easy to see why they land in the same breath. Both put adidas’s two most famous Predator players back in gold and in the headlines in the same autumn.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Zidane ZZ30 Predator?
A limited edition Predator 26, released on 8 September 2026, marking thirty years between Zinedine Zidane and adidas. It’s white and metallic gold, with his logo on the tongue drawn from his 2002 Champions League final volley, and elastic straps naming the places that shaped his career.
What does ZZ30 mean?
It combines Zidane’s initials with the thirty years being marked — thirty years since adidas signed him.
How much does the Zidane ZZ30 Predator cost?
Reported at US$295 at launch, through adidas and select retailers.
Is the ZZ30 the same as Zidane’s 2019 gold Predator?
No. The 2019 boot was a gold remake of the 1998 Predator Accelerator he wore at that year’s World Cup, for the Predator’s own 25th anniversary. The ZZ30 is a 2026 Predator 26, marking thirty years of his personal deal with adidas.
Is there an adidas advert for the Zidane ZZ30 Predator?
Not that we’ve found. adidas’s best-known Zidane film remains Under The Tongue, its documentary on thirty years of the Predator line.
